In that case, Ronan is glad that he told Adam, but it wasn't calculated. He'd said it simply because it was the truth. That's what Ronan has been afraid of: that Adam wouldn't leave parts of his heart in Henrietta. He doesn't want Adam to hurt, but he does want Adam to love him, more than he has ever wanted anything in his entire life. Ronan isn't kind, and he will be the first to argue that, but when it comes to Adam, he is kind; he is vulnerable and he is soft. Adam brings out all those pieces of him.
Really, that's the only thing that makes this bearable for Ronan, knowing that he is missed, that the Barns and Henrietta, Opal and Chainsaw are missed. It gives him hope that Adam will come back to him one day.
Ronan often reminds himself of the same thing. He sketches Adam, trying to get everything just right about his boyfriend. It sends fluttery feelings trickling through him when he says those words to himself: Adam Parrish is his boyfriend.
Relief washes through Ronan when Adam takes his hand and pulls him into the room. He leans back into it ever so slightly simply to make that tug seem more solid. A sharp grin slices across his face as he steps over the threshold into Adam's room. The relief is followed by an ache of wanting, by fire that burns under his skin. He's very still while Adam looks him up and down. HIs eyes are busy devouring Adam as well. He's waited a long time for this.
It's just as well that Chainsaw interrupts them because Ronan doesn't know what to say to that. He doesn't know what to do in this moment. His lips twist into a smirk at Adam's words. "She's going to destroy so much shit." Though Ronan won't let her destroy anything that matters. "She's pretty pissed about being in the car that long." He unzips the backpack and Chainsaw shoots out of the back, flying straight to the top of Adam's head where she lands and starts nuzzling and tugging on Adam's hair. She also nips at the tops of his ears.
"Stupid bird missed you. I've got like five thousand fucking crayon drawings Opal made for you in here." He grabs a manila envelope out of his backpack and tosses it on the nearest surface.
